Forsyth Country Day School seeks a leader who will join the school and the Winston-Salem community, first seeking to understand and appreciate the school and the area. FCDS is crystal clear in its mission and core values, and adherence to the mission is paramount.
Located in Lewisville, North Carolina in the Winston-Salem metropolitan area, Forsyth Country Day School (FCDS) is truly a community of learners. Students from age 2 through high school learn and are part of a vibrant, coeducational community on a beautiful 85-acre campus surrounding a lake.
FCDS has strong enrollment and sound finances. In recent years, major building and renovation projects have been completed without taking on additional debt. The campus is stunning - wooded and spacious, with age-appropriate facilities for all four divisions.
The School has been on a nine-year upward trajectory and wants to see that progress continue. The School is not looking for candidates who need to make radical changes but rather to bring a professional, discerning eye to the programs and facilities and continue to move the School forward. The next Head of School will inherit a highly professional administrative team and a faculty beloved by the students. FCDS is staffed and organized to serve a range of students, challenging those who are prepared for high level work while supporting all students.
The 21-member Board of Trustees is engaged and supportive. The majority of Board members are current parents and several are FCDS alumni. Past parents and grandparents make up the remainder of the Board. The Board worked collaboratively with the Head and senior administrators to develop the 2023-2028 strategic plan which is currently being implemented. The School is committed to this plan but is willing for the next Head to weigh into it as implementation continues.
