Job Description

High Point Friends School, a PK2 - 8th grade co-educational, independent school located in High Point, North Carolina, is seeking a PK Teacher (4 year olds).

The faculty member's primary responsibilities are to:

  • Plan and facilitate daily learning experiences that target students' assessed needs based upon the HPFS curriculum, NC Standards, and mission of the school.
  • Maintain a joyous and welcoming classroom atmosphere.
  • Supervise students to ensure their spiritual, physical, and mental well-being.
  • Communicate appropriately with parents and administration regarding students' achievements, growth, potential, and behavior.
  • Provide learning opportunities that are targeted to meet each student’s personal characteristics and academic needs.
  • Maintain a clean, organized, and clutter-free learning environment that facilitates highly engaged and active learning.
  • Carry out other responsibilities as assigned by the Head of School.

Qualifications and Qualities:

  • Bachelor’s Degree
  • Current NC teaching license preferred
  • A life-long learner, committed to ongoing professional development
  • Demonstrated sensitivity to, appreciation for and positive communication with students, faculty and staff of varying racial, ethnic, religious, gender, cultural, disability, sexual orientation and socioeconomic backgrounds.
