Position Expectations
The Lower and Middle School Art teacher’s primary responsibility will be preparing and implementing art lessons for grades Pre-K-7th that educate students on the use of a broad number of artistic materials and tools. The Lower and Middle School Art curriculum involves both two-dimensional and three-dimensional work. They will also maintain a gallery display of student art in hallways, lobbies, and other creative spaces. A sense of humor, enthusiasm, and collaboration are also important for this position. Effective communication with students, parents, colleagues, and active participation in the expectations of the position are essential.
Educational Requirements
The ideal candidate will possess a bachelor’s degree in Art Education (with a Master’s degree preferred) and at least three years experience in teaching. Independent school experience is preferable.
