Job title: 5th & 6th Social Studies Teacher
Classroom Teacher’s Primary Purpose: To design and implement engaging and differentiated lessons that allow each student the opportunity to reach their God-given potential in a way that supports the mission and values of the school.

Duties & Responsibilities:
· Specialization and passion for teaching 5th & 6th grade students
· Implementation of Woodland’s Educational Philosophy
· Staying current with teaching strategies, techniques, and educational technology
· Consistent and clear parent and student communication
· Working collaboratively with administrators and colleagues
· Sponsoring, coaching, and/or participating in extra and co-curricular activities
· Planning and attendance of field trips
· Participation on school committees
· Attendance and participation in divisional meetings
· Student arrival and/or dismissal duties
· Adherence to Faculty Guidelines
· Participating in professional development
· Supervision of students
· Ability to work well with others in a collaborative independent school environment
· Support the school’s Statement of Faith
Experience & Physical Requirements:
· Teaching experience (minimum of three years)
· Bachelor’s Degree Required, Master’s degree preferred in related field
· Valid teacher licensure preferred
· Proficient to advanced technology skills
· Ability to regularly sit, turn, bend, reach, walk, talk, hear, and visually identify visitors
· Ability to occasionally lift up to 25 pounds
