Social Studies Teacher/ Assistant Basketball Coach

Christian Brothers High School, an all-boys, college-prep, Lasallian Catholic high school in Memphis, Tennessee seeks a dynamic individual with a scholar's passion for the subject matter as a faculty member in our Social Studies Department. The job is a full-time position for the upcoming 2025/26 school year.

Minimum job requirements/ job responsibilities include:

• Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with the school's curriculum and high standards.
• Teach all levels of social studies Courses courses as part of a college-prep curriculum.
• Assess and evaluate student performance through assignments , exams, and projects, providing constructive feedback to support their development.
• Uphold the values of Christian Brothers High School and contribute to its mission of preparing students for college and beyond.
• Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited university in Social Studies, History, Education or a related field. Master's degree is preferred.
• 3 – 5 years’ experience teaching in a structured college- prep environment.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Effective time management. Demonstrated ability to work in a team environment, manage relationships, meet goals, and articulate message.
• Strong candidates will demonstrate an ability to address students with different learning styles and the ability to work collaboratively with a veteran department of teachers.
• Further, we seek teachers who can contribute to our school's diverse extracurricular programs including supporting our co-curricular- activities and coaching our student-athletes. Experience in coaching basketball a plus.
