Oak Hill School seeks a creative and collaborative candidate for a third grade classroom. This faculty member will join a nurturing, Christian community committed to the school’s mission and vision for building an environment where all children learn, grow, and thrive.
Responsibilities
Work collaboratively with a grade level team to plan, prepare, and deliver lesson plans and instructional materials that facilitate active learning.
Design and teach innovative lessons that differentiate for a variety of learning styles
Teach an intentional social and emotional learning curriculum.
Support students in their spiritual growth through flag raising, morning devotions, and daily prayer.
Maintain a safe, organized classroom which supports students’ learning.
Monitor and maintain a positive classroom environment based on Responsive Classroom practices that support the school wide behavior expectations
Communicate effectively with parents to provide academic and behavior progress of students
Skills and Characteristics
Excellent communication and organizational skills
A strong understanding of child development (academically, socially, and emotionally) and a passion for working with the elementary-aged child
Bachelor’s degree in education required
Master’s degree and/or lower school teaching experience preferred
A commitment to support and be a part of building a community that reflects God’s love as expressed in the Christian tradition
Experience in curriculum development and revision
Experience creating and using assessments to inform instruction
Prompt and regular attendance is an essential function of this job
Demonstrates an understanding of diversity, love, inclusion, and belonging principles both in teaching and in working with colleagues
Demonstrates a commitment to continuous professional growth
