UPPER SCHOOL PHYSICS TEACHER

Mount de Sales Academy, founded in 1876, is a Catholic, independent, college preparatory school serving students in grades 6-12 from 32 zip codes in Middle Georgia. We seek a dedicated and passionate Upper School Physics Teacher to join our faculty. This full-time position is responsible for teaching physics courses and fostering a dynamic learning environment that encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and academic excellence.

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with the Mount de Sales curriculum and AP standards.
  • Teach high school physics courses, ranging from introductory physics through AP Physics 2.
  • Utilize hands-on experiments, demonstrations, and real-world applications to enhance student understanding.
  • Assess student learning through a variety of methods and provide timely, constructive feedback.
  • Maintain open communication with students, parents, and colleagues to support student growth and achievement.
  • Participate in school-wide events, extracurricular activities, and ongoing professional development.
  • Stay informed about current trends and best practices in science education.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in physics, engineering, science education, or a related field required (Master’s degree preferred).
  • Strong knowledge of physics and the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts.
  • Experience teaching AP Physics preferred.
  • Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to create a positive and engaging classroom environment.
  • Willingness to collaborate with colleagues and contribute to the broader school community.
