UPPER SCHOOL PHYSICS TEACHER
Mount de Sales Academy, founded in 1876, is a Catholic, independent, college preparatory school serving students in grades 6-12 from 32 zip codes in Middle Georgia. We seek a dedicated and passionate Upper School Physics Teacher to join our faculty. This full-time position is responsible for teaching physics courses and fostering a dynamic learning environment that encourages curiosity, critical thinking, and academic excellence.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Develop and implement engaging lesson plans that align with the Mount de Sales curriculum and AP standards.
- Teach high school physics courses, ranging from introductory physics through AP Physics 2.
- Utilize hands-on experiments, demonstrations, and real-world applications to enhance student understanding.
- Assess student learning through a variety of methods and provide timely, constructive feedback.
- Maintain open communication with students, parents, and colleagues to support student growth and achievement.
- Participate in school-wide events, extracurricular activities, and ongoing professional development.
- Stay informed about current trends and best practices in science education.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree in physics, engineering, science education, or a related field required (Master’s degree preferred).
- Strong knowledge of physics and the ability to effectively communicate complex concepts.
- Experience teaching AP Physics preferred.
- Excellent organizational, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to create a positive and engaging classroom environment.
- Willingness to collaborate with colleagues and contribute to the broader school community.
