Position and Qualifications Summary
Ashley Hall seeks a full-time History teacher for grades 5-8 to begin August 2025. The candidate will teach American History in 5th grade and Ancient Civilizations in 6th grade.

Major Responsibilities

Teaching history with a modular, inquiry-based, and project-based approach through the lens of art history, geography, politics, and economics.
Developing engaging lesson plans designed to foster global perspectives.
Ensuring creativity and high quality teaching and learning.
Fostering a caring atmosphere and showing commitment to the well-being and social and academic progress of each student.
Sharing responsibilities for curriculum development, and other departmental and divisional priorities, including trips (national and international).
Collaborating on a curricular transition to meet the requirements of the IB MYP curriculum framework.
Key Requirements
Master's degree with a major or concentration in Humanities, History or Geography preferred.
Minimum of 3 years of teaching experience working with middle grades students; specifically those in grades 5-8.
Strong knowledge of and experience in teaching in the IB MYP curriculum framework preferred.
Curriculum development knowledge.
Flexibility and willingness to teach across time periods and disciplines.
Inter-cultural awareness with well-developed interpersonal skills.
Commitment to ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
Willingness to collaborate and work as part of a team.
Ancillary duties and responsibilities as assigned.

Since its founding in 1909, Ashley Hall has empowered young women to think critically, act ethically, and embrace their world with confidence. The School serves girls kindergarten through grade 12 (and is co-ed in its Early School, ages 2 to 5 years).
