This is a Full-time, 12-month position.
The Director of Advancement is charged with designing and implementing a variety of fundraising opportunities as part of the overall plan to raise money for annual/capital needs towards achieving the goals of the school's strategic plan. The Director of Advancement works collaboratively with the Head of School, Special Events Director, Donor Development Director, and Alumni Relations Director in a variety of areas including the following: alumni engagement, special events, fund development events, capital campaign management, major gifts, and database/records management.
Principle Responsibilities include the following:
Develop and maintain a fundraising program including special events, major gifts, donor cultivation, alumni relations, ongoing correspondences, and annual reviews
Develop and maintain ongoing events and networking opportunities with current and potential donors
Develop volunteer participation/leadership opportunities through regular contact and recognition
Develop an effective strategy to communicate the importance and necessity of ongoing support from donors
Utilize special events to develop donor enthusiasm to support special programming
Assist in the implementation of annual, capital, major, and planned gift initiatives
Assist in the management of donor portfolios
Assist in the oversight of the processing of all gift income
Issue receipts and thank you notes for all donations and gifts
Create, develop, and maintain a stewardship program to recognize donors
Assist in the planning/implementation of all fundraising and donor-building programs and special events
Supervise staff and volunteers for events
Establish positive working relationships with staff and volunteers
Produce articles with photos for church bulletins/newspapers/social media and other media sources as needed in conjunction with the Director of Marketing
Attend all committee and staff meetings
Collaborate with the Head of School reporting periodic progress toward annual goals
Be involved in strategic planning and serve as a spokesperson for the school's vision and program to a range of constituencies, including individuals, businesses, and foundations
Recommend policy concerning funding the development of special events
Execute all other duties assigned by the Head of School
Education: Minimum Bachelor's degree preferably in fundraising, communications/public relations, or a related field.
Pay is commensurate with experience beginning at $85,000; Full Benefits Package including Annual Bonus options and Tuition Remission.
