This full-time position will begin in August 2025.
Responsibilities: The Middle and Upper School French & Spanish Teacher will report to the Head of the Middle School and will:
Teach a total of four classes, which will include both Spanish and French, to students who may range from grades 6-12.
Be prepared and willing to teach multiple levels in both languages.
Collaborate effectively with a team of French & Spanish teachers.
In addition to the normal teaching responsibilities, this person will advise a group of 10 to 12 students, supervise a study hall for one semester, and perform periodic duty assignments (lunch, detention, etc.).
Required Qualifications:
A bachelor’s degree in Education
Advanced proficiency level in French & Spanish and five years, or more, of direct teaching experience in the field.
Working knowledge of ACTFL proficiency standards and the ability to teach and assess the three modes of communication.
Cultural competency and knowledge of culturally responsive approaches to education.
Proficient technology skills
Superb organizational skills
Ability to collaborate effectively as a department member.
Preferred Qualifications
A master’s degree
IB teaching experience
Experience teaching in an Independent School
