Teaching Associate 2025-2026

Position title: Teaching Associate

Position description: The teaching associate will perform duties necessary to support his/her assigned classroom teacher.

Position classification: Non-exempt, hourly

Reports to: Head of School and works with assigned Classroom Teacher.

Qualifications:

• Possess a minimum of an undergraduate degree from an accredited college or university, or significant experience as a teaching assistant/para-professional.

Duties and Responsibilities: Under the direct supervision of an assigned Classroom Teacher and the Head of School, Teaching Associates will:

• Perform duties necessary to support his/her assigned classroom teacher.
• Report directly to the assigned Classroom teacher for all matters relating to classroom instruction and oversight of students in his/her charge.
• Report to Head of School for all matters relating to employment and general duties relating to oversight of students and classroom instruction.
• Comply with the policies and procedures of Mason Preparatory School as outlined in the Board Policy Manual, Faculty Handbook, Student Handbook and Employee Handbook, Instruction and curriculum, Safety of children, Emergency management

Hours of Employment:

• Employee is expected to be at school during school operation from 7:30 am until 3:30 pm for full-time employees. On occasion, Employee may be required to attend scheduled school events outside of these hours.
