Job Description

The Lovett School is seeking an admission and enrollment professional who will represent our community within the Atlanta area and demonstrate sensitivity and cultural competency in cross-cultural collaboration. As the first contact prospective families may have, the Associate Director of Admission and Enrollment for Lower School requires extensive knowledge of the School, its mission, and the many nuances of the three academic divisions. As a crucial member of Lovett’s Admission and Enrollment team, this role requires immersion in the community to support and articulate the School’s mission to develop students of honor, faith, and wisdom with the character and intellect to thrive in learning and in life.

Reports to: Head of Enrollment 

Work Schedule: 12-month; Full time

Primary Responsibilities:

  • Oversee all aspects of the Lower School admission process including outreach to potential families, developing relationships and pipelines, and working with the Head of Enrolment Management on retention initiatives.
  • Counsel prospective families as they work through the admission process. Maintain an accurate database of applicant information.
  • Design, implement, and attend admission, enrollment, and retention events throughout the year. Coordinate appropriately with divisional colleagues. Events may include but are not limited to interview/observation days for all grades, tours, grade-specific parent information meetings for current and prospective families, school-wide open houses, student visitation days, and any other enrollment-related gatherings on and off campus.
  •  Some evening and weekend work is required.
  • Dedicate time to classroom visits and school events to remain current with school practices and programs, student efforts, faculty talents, and parent relationships.
  • Work with campus partners, students, and parents to enhance the application process, including but not limited to advising choices the faculty observation representatives, admission committee representation, and duties during admission events.
  • Design experiences in line with Lovett's definition of a whole child experience.
  • To achieve our goal of increasing applications and interest in key grades, engage with and expand the network of feeder schools and community organizations to promote the School and recruit prospective families.
  • Annually evaluate and update all aspects of the admission process, including the application, events, interviews, and committee procedures to best meet the needs of all constituents.
  • Partner with the Communications team in communication and marketing efforts to support admission and retention efforts with internal and external constituents. Collaborate to produce regularly scheduled communication including monthly newsletters, content for social media posts, and printed/digital collateral for recruitment purposes.
  • Compile and present applicant profiles to admission committee members.
  • Assist with file reading training and creation of documents in collaboration with the Head of Enrollment Management.
  • Plan and execute welcoming and onboarding efforts for newly enrolled families in partnership with division leadership and colleagues in the Admission and Enrollment Office.
  • Continually seek new opportunities to improve upon existing admission practices.
  • Provides outstanding customer experience by having full knowledge of the enrollment process, and partners with administrative staff to guide successful admission and enrollment efforts for a sustainable future.

Position Requirements:

  • A bachelor’s degree from an accredited university. Master’s degree preferred.
  • Experience in a school setting is preferred.
  • 2-5 years of progressive admission and enrollment experience in the field of admissions in independent or public selective schools and or within higher education is strongly preferred.
  • Experience, beyond personal, with social media, in marketing, content creation and brand awareness preferred.
  • Experience with Asana, Canva or similar software is a plus.
  • Outstanding attention to detail.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills including large-group settings, to facilitate effective communication with students, parents, and colleagues.
  • A strong desire to work in a collaborative office, employing a growth mindset and working effectively in a diverse team.
  • Ability to cultivate and maintain strong relationships and partnerships internally and externally.
  • Superior customer service skills, internally and externally.
  • Excellent listening skills.
  • Expert knowledge of Google Suite, Zoom, and Microsoft Office. Working knowledge of Ravenna Solutions or an enrollment CRM is a plus.
