Stratford Academy, a K-12 co-educational independent school in Macon, GA, is seeking applicants for the full-time, 12-month position of Athletic Trainer to begin on June 1, 2025.
Stratford Academy is seeking an experienced, adept, and committed Athletic Trainer with a minimum of 2-4 years of experience in the athletic trainer field. They should provide athletic trainer coverage for high and middle school athletics and serve on the school’s crisis team for emergencies during the school day. They may also teach one or two classes. They should hold a master’s degree (MSAT) and be certified in first aid/CPR and Medication Administration.
Other duties of this position include:
Establish an effective athletic training program for high school and middle school athletics.
Responsible for prevention, emergency care, first aid, evaluation, and rehabilitation of injuries to athletes under his/her care.
Serve as liaison between the team physician, the athlete, the athlete’s parents, and coaching staff.
Consultant to coaching staff on conditioning, nutrition, and protective equipment.
This position will also work with the school nurse to review student physicals, concussion protocol, and nutritional needs of our students.
Provide coverage at all home athletic events and any other events as specified by the Athletic Director.
Maintain an effective and efficient athletic training room.
File all necessary reports associated with athletic injuries and/or incidents.
Equip each team with appropriate medical equipment.
Provide emergency care and first aid including availability of necessary equipment, communication procedures for emergency situations, and prompt, accurate triage.
Evaluate acute and chronic injuries and refer to the team physician or specialist where appropriate. Help decide if a player may return to competition following an injury.
Teach one to two classes per semester.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
