SUMMARY
The primary function of this position is to teach students in a self-contained elementary classroom. This posting is for the 2024-25 school year.
Prince Avenue Christian School (PACS) is a ministry of Prince Avenue Baptist Church (PABC), and the faculty and staff’s conduct reflects on the church and school. Therefore, this employee agrees to conduct him- or herself in a Godly manner at all times, be under the authority of the school administration and PABC, and to abide by the policies and statement of faith thereof.
RESPONSIBILITIES
· Plan, prepare, and deliver traditional classroom and online instructional activities that facilitate active learning experiences.
· Establish and maintain appropriate and effective classroom management protocols.
· Develop a rapport with students that motivates and fosters enthusiasm for learning.
· Creatively integrate technology in the classroom to enhance teaching.
· Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve grade-level and school goals.
· Provide appropriate feedback on student work in a prompt and timely manner.
· Maintain accurate and complete records of student progress and attendance in Facts/SIS.
· Maintain up-to-date records in Curriculum Trak.
· Obtain and/or maintain ACSI teacher certification.
· Become well-versed in the teaching of reading from a phonics base. (Attendance to the Complete Reading Series reading instruction courses is provided by the school at no expense to the teacher.)
· Communicate necessary information regularly to students, colleagues, and parents regarding student progress, disciplinary matters, rehearsals, productions, etc.
· Comply with all safety policies, practices, and procedures.
· Perform other duties as assigned.
All faculty and staff are expected to play a formative role in the spiritual lives of students. This includes integration of a biblical worldview into their subject matter and lessons.
QUALIFICATIONS
· A committed Christian who is active in an evangelical church ministry.
· Bachelor's or higher degree in elementary education.
· Teaching experience preferred.
· Strong interpersonal skills - exceptional oral and written communication skills.
· Proficient knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite to include Outlook, Word, Teams, Excel, and PowerPoint.
· Proficiency in operating an Interactive Flat Panel to enhance and complement instruction.
