This position involves teaching Middle School students. This position will begin on September 3, 2024.
Specific duties include:
- Ensure continuity of instruction and maintain a productive learning environment in the absence of regular teachers by following lesson plans and managing classroom activities.
- Demonstrating a high level of responsiveness to students
- Experience with proficiency-based instruction in an immersive environment preferred
- Managing student behavior in a manner that optimizes the learning environment
- Maintain regular communication with students and their parents regarding progress
Required Skills:
- Have a working knowledge and experience teaching middle and/or high school students
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills demonstrating tact and diplomacy
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and interdependently
- Ability to leverage technology, including but not limited to, Microsoft Office, Google apps, language lab software and interactive whiteboard technology
- Strong organizational and classroom management skills
Minimum Job Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree from an accredited institution of higher learning
- 3+ years of successful teaching preferred
- Independent school experience preferred, but not required
Permanent Substitute Teacher, Middle School position is an exempt, salaried position. Salary is commensurate with education and experience. Substantial benefits are available. EOE
