Student and Family Experience Coordinator

Overview: Chatham Hall, a distinguished girls' boarding school nestled on 365 acres in southern Virginia, seeks a passionate and dedicated Student and Family Experience Coordinator to join our dynamic enrollment team. This role is pivotal in fostering meaningful connections with prospective and current students and their families and providing them with a customized and engaging experience that aligns with our mission of equipping curious thinkers to discover their unique potential and lead lives of positive impact.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Student and Family Engagement: Serve as the primary point of contact for prospective and enrolled students and their families, ensuring exceptional communication and support throughout their journey with Chatham Hall. Coordinate personalized campus visits, virtual tours, and events that showcase our campus and community.

  • Affordability Support: Facilitate the collection and processing of financial assistance documentation, ensuring timely and accurate submission to support families in navigating the affordability of a Chatham Hall education. 

  • Event Coordination: Plan and execute events that highlight the Chatham Hall experience, including open houses, information sessions, and other admission, enrollment, and re-enrollment experiences, both in-person and digital. Collaborate closely with the enrollment team and student life leadership to ensure that events are informative, welcoming, and reflect our school’s values and culture. This aspect of the role includes occasional nights and weekends.

  • Student Ambassador Management and Mentorship: Train, mentor, and schedule student ambassadors to assist with campus tours, events, and outreach activities. Provide ongoing support and guidance to student ambassadors, fostering their leadership skills and ensuring they represent Chatham Hall professionally and enthusiastically.

  • Relationship Management: Cultivate strong relationships with prospective students and their families, guiding them through the admission process with empathy and professionalism. Maintain ongoing communication to address inquiries, provide information, and offer personalized support.

  • Collaboration and Teamwork: Work collaboratively with colleagues across departments, including, but not limited to, Admission, Advancement, and Student Life, to ensure a cohesive and enriching family experience. Provide insights and feedback to enhance the overall family experience and journey.

  • Data Management: Using the school's CRM system, maintain accurate records of family interactions, event attendance, and feedback. Use data to track progress, identify trends, and inform decision-making to enhance the family experience.

  • Ambassadorship: Represent Chatham Hall at some external events, fairs, and conferences to promote Chatham Hall’s unique offerings and engage with prospective families. You will demonstrate a deep understanding of our mission, programs, and campus life.


  • Bachelor’s degree in Education, Communication, Marketing, or a related field preferred.

  • Experience in admissions, customer service, event planning, or a similar role within an educational environment - boarding school experience preferred.

  • Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to build rapport and trust with diverse audiences, ensuring discretion and maintaining confidentiality when handling sensitive information.

  • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail in managing multiple projects and deadlines.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, Google Workspace, and Blackbaud systems.

  • Commitment to the mission and values of Chatham Hall, including fostering a supportive and inclusive community for young women.

Compensation and Benefits: The Student and Family Experience Coordinator is a 12-month, salaried (exempt) position offering a competitive salary range based on applicable experience and an excellent benefits package.
