Employment Type: Part Time (25 hours per week), Benefits Eligible

Months Worked Per School Year: 12 months

Expected Work Days/Hours: M-F / 9am-2pm (partial remote option available, in-person work required)

 

Job Summary: 

Join our team as an Accounts Payable Specialist and be a vital part of our business office.  As an Accounts Payable Specialist, you'll play a crucial role in processing invoices, reconciling accounts, and ensuring timely and accurate payments to vendors.

 

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Review and verify the accuracy of invoices and resolve any discrepancies.
  • Enter invoices into the accounts payable system.
  • Prepare and process checks/ACH payments weekly (and as needed).
  • Maintain vendor files and ensure all necessary documentation is collected. 
  • Prepare and post recurring monthly adjusting journal entries and post journal entries from Controller.
  • Reconcile and record credit card transactions on a weekly basis.
  • Process weekly flexible spending ACH payments.
  • Prepare annual 1096/1099’s.
  • Distribute monthly budget reports to teachers and staff.
  • Improve automation processes for accounts payable.
  • Perform other accounting tasks as requested.

 





Required Skills and Abilities: 

  • Candidate should be detail oriented and possess organizational skills, including multi-tasking and managing time efficiently.  Be able to thrive in a fast-paced service-oriented environment while being personable dealing with faculty and staff.
  • Proficient in Excel and accounting software (Blackbaud Financial Edge experience preferred)

 

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Required - 2 years of bookkeeping/accounts payable experience.
