Job Description

We at St. Anne's-Belfield School believe it is the quality and passion of our people that set us apart. We seek to hire the best teachers, administrators, and staff members to support our amazing student body by offering a competitive benefits package and providing a wonderful working environment.

St. Anne’s-Belfield School seeks a full-time Humanities teacher and advisor to join a highly collaborative department. In Grade 9, English and History are taught in separate classes, and the teaching team coordinates how our writing curriculum spirals through the courses. In Grades 10 and 11, AP Human Geography and American Studies classes are taught in a dual-credit class that provides an English credit and a history credit. Team teaching may be employed. In Grade 12, English is taught separately from history. Currently, English 12 is an earned-honors course with shared writing standards across sections and at least one shared text. The Contemporary Novel, Literature of the Wild, Literary Works in Cinematic Form, and Dramatic Literature are currently offered.

Full-time classroom teaching experience, strong organizational and classroom management skills, a collaborative spirit, and the ability to joyfully teach adolescents are required. Ideal candidates will have experience teaching high school-aged students in a standards-based learning environment (SBL) and hold a master's degree in English, History, or a related field.

As an independent school, we value community and expect that the selected candidate will serve as a coach, and/or lead extracurricular programming beyond the classroom.
