Job Description

This position has the opportunity to develop and teach introductory courses in coding, robotics, maker/design, and engineering. Using digital tools like Scratch and Tynker and equipment such as microcontrollers and robotics, this instructor will have the opportunity to teach 9-18 week courses that help equip students for success in Upper School Maker/Coding programs. This role is important because it will bridge the Lower School coding/maker programs with the Upper School coding/maker programs and have the opportunity to teach new and emerging skills. Strong candidates will have experience teaching Middle School and a variety of digital skills including coding/robotics. 

What a typical week looks like | Responsibilities

  • Designing & facilitating daily learning experiences with a group of 14 to 20 students. 
  • Co-designing curriculum and assessment with the Arts+Design team
  • Maintaining comprehensive records of performance, progress, and goals using MV tools
  • Communicating with families, learning coaches, and outside providers
  • Actively participating in professional growth opportunities
  • Participating in weekly school/division/team meetings
  • Meeting the needs of the division by helping with weekly coverage and duties 
  • Making space for students who are interested in Robotics and Coding outside of the class (ie. clubs)
