The Burlington School, Inc. seeks a full-time Business Manager to support all financial operations of the school. The Burlington School is accredited by SAIS and is the premier Preschool 3 through 12th grade independent school in Alamance County. The school offers programs in academics, athletics and the arts and is a vibrant learning community of 409 students and 60 faculty. The Business Manager is responsible for all facets of the accounting, financial management and human resources. Duties and responsibilities include:

Accounting & financial management

·         Accounts payable and receivable

·         Preparation of the annual budget

·         Preparation of monthly and year-end financial statements

·         Assist outside CPA firm with preparation of annual reviewed financial statements and tax return

·         Organize the school’s risk management committee and serve as the liaison with the school’s insurance representative regarding specific issues

·         Serve on the school’s Leadership team

·         Staff liaison to the Finance Committee of the Board of Trustee

Human resources

·         Preparation of monthly payroll via a 3rd party payroll vendor

·         Annual employment contract

·         Onboarding new employees

·         Management of employee benefit plans including retirement and health plans

·         FMLA and COBRA compliance

Position requirements:

·         Bachelor’s degree required

·         Strong background in accounting

·         Experience in an educational or non-profit setting preferred

·         Detail-oriented, with excellent time-management skills
