Upper School Science Teacher

Brookwood School is an independent, coeducational, college-preparatory day school in Thomasville, Georgia, which offers a superior educational opportunity to qualified students. Founded in 1970, Brookwood enrolls approximately 500 students, drawing students from four counties in Southwest Georgia and two counties in North Florida. We have an opening for a ​talented and innovative faculty member to teach high school science courses. This position will begin for the 2023-24 academic year. 

Position Responsibilities: 

• Teach Upper School Science courses, including Biology, AP Biology, Anatomy & Physiology  

• Ability to additional teach STEM-based science courses

• Position may include student life responsibilities, such as club sponsorship

Attributes Required: 

• Bachelor’s Degree in Science or Science Education 

• Full time teaching experience is preferred 

• Student-centered approach 

• Possessing a collaborative spirit and a growth mindset 

• Effective verbal and written communication skills 

• Must be proficient in working with students 9th-12th grade 

• Ability to successfully interface with students, colleagues, parents, and administrators 

• Ability to multitask effectively 

• Openness and amenability to living in the small-town environment of Thomasville 

• Proficient in the use and integration of technology in the classroom, including the use of Google (Docs, Sheets, Slides, etc.), MacBook, iPads, and Apple TV Technology
