Christ Church Episcopal School (CCES) seeks exceptional candidates for one or more positions of TIDE (Technology, Innovation, Design, Entrepreneurship, and Engineering) Instructor for the 2024-2025 school year. We offer a highly-motivated, collaborative learning environment that amply supports teacher professional growth, nurtures student-teacher relationships, and develops creative and critical thinking skills in every student. In addition, CCES currently offers a highly popular Middle School TIDE curriculum, aspires to build an innovative team to fulfill our vision for continuity from grades Primer-12, and plans to break ground on a 22,000 square foot TIDE Center in the near future as part of Phase 1 of our Campus Master Plan. Responsibilities for this position could include various combinations of the following, based upon the skill set, passions, and curiosities of qualified candidates:
Teaching programming courses from an introductory semester programming elective to AP Computer Science (Java) and IB Computer Science;
Teaching enrichment courses in Robotics, Digital Electronics, Drone Operations, or Drone Technologies, or designing and proposing similar alternatives in fields such as Engineering Design and Fabrication, Emerging Technologies, 3D Modeling or Industrial CAD, Mobile Applications, Cybersecurity, or Machine Learning and Artificial Intelligence;
Mentoring individual students through related passion projects to include Senior Capstone and Sophomore Project programs;
Partnering with other Science, Mathematics and TIDE Instructors to develop learning activities that enhance traditional curriculum and instruction;
Leveraging opportunities in the school calendar to develop special programs that highlight student inquiry, risk-taking and productive failure, and problem-solving;
Seeking professional partnerships and connecting with off-campus resources and experts in related fields to support student learning experiences;
Leading student participation in regional Robotics events or competitions;
Advising a group of about 10 Upper School students of diverse interests and backgrounds

Minimum requirements for this position include a Bachelors degree. The ideal candidate will possess a Masters degree or several years of experience in related fields; bring resourcefulness toward impacting a wide variety of students; embrace the growth mindset required to model excellence in a dynamic independent school; possess a disposition to support students as they reflect, revise, and iterate their work; and demonstrate positive enthusiasm for working with students, parents, and colleagues.
