Assistant Director of Security
This is an exempt administrative position that reports to the Director of Security. The scope of the job includes providing for and maintaining a safe and secure campus for the upper and middle schools, management of third-party rentals, school-wide calendar scheduling, and traffic/parking logistics. This position includes but is not limited to the following responsibilities:
Essential Duties Responsibilities
School Security and Safety:
Assist in maintaining, updating and implementing the School Emergency Operations Plan (SEOP)
Oversee school security and safety monitoring systems primarily at the middle school
Serve as contact person with security and safety monitoring contractors at the middle school
Coordinate access for special events and rentals on the middle school campus
In conjunction with the Director of Security, arrange for repairs, purchases, renovations, etc, for security and safety alarm systems and security assets.
In conjunction with the Director of Security, plan and oversee, accordingly, any upgrades of security and monitoring systems.
Coordinate School Life Safety Systems – Fire Alarm System, Crises Alarm System
Oversee service contracts and maintenance of equipment
Maintain service records
Oversee the planning for upgrades to school life safety systems
Perform regular safety/OSHA inspections
Complete regular inspections with Director of Facilities in US and MS
• Buildings • Grounds
Perform other safety and health inspections as needed
Accompany insurance inspector on yearly insurance audits
Accompany Health Inspector on annual and routine health inspections
Act as the primary person responsible for safety policies and procedures of the school’s facilities and grounds
Oversee the guard services on US and MS campuses, in the absence of the Director of Security
Regulatory Programs:
Oversee compliance with all federal, state and local regulatory requirements pertaining to our physical plant and grounds or use of them
Manage records and files on applicable federal, state, county regulations
Manage records and files on applicable OSHA, EPA and Fire/Rescue regulations
Assure that we are in ADA compliance where applicable School Scheduling and Operations:
Responsible for school-wide operational scheduling and management of calendar for the middle school
Identify conflicts and other operational issues and resolves them
Responsible for all traffic and parking on the middle school campus, as well as maintaining positive relations with neighbors and neighboring areas
Coordinates with Facilities and Maintenance Department on all operational activities of the school
Assume other responsibilities as requested to do so by the Head of School and/or the Chief Operating Officer

Qualifications
BS or BA from an accredited college or university
Minimum 8-10 years managing facilities with similar size
Minimum 10 years of prior Law Enforcement or Military Experience
Proficiency in Excel and Microsoft Word software
Strong interpersonal skills and strong communication skills
Strong proficiency in English (verbal and written)
Holding and maintains a G license for firearm is required
