St. Anne’s-Belfield School seeks a part-time French teacher to serve in the middle school world languages program for the 2023-24 school year. This teacher’s primary responsibilities include teaching two sections of French and collaborating with the department chair to ensure a language learning experience that aligns with the goals and practices of the World Language program. Candidates ought to be confident, flexible, and passionate about learning and teaching, and have the capacity to promote linguistic and cultural literacy and proficiency while cultivating a lifelong appreciation for, and curiosity about, languages and the cultures that they reflect.
Classroom teaching experience, strong organizational and classroom management skills, and the ability to joyfully teach middle school children are required. Ideal candidates will have experience teaching middle school-aged students in a standards-based learning environment (SBL), hold a master's degree in world language education or a related field, and are equipped to support Level 1 and 2 language learners.
Anticipated hours of work: 8:30-11:30, Monday - Friday
