St. Anne’s-Belfield School seeks a full-time French and Spanish teacher to serve in the middle school world languages program for the 2023-24 school year. In Grades 5-8, students study four years of French or Spanish. A successful teacher in this position has the capacity to promote linguistic and cultural literacy and proficiency while cultivating a life-long appreciation for and curiosity about languages and the cultures that they reflect. This role relies on someone who collaborates effectively with members of the Grades K - 8 world language department and the middle school faculty as a whole.
Full-time classroom teaching experience, both online and in-person, strong organizational and classroom management skills, and the ability to joyfully teach middle school children are required. Ideal candidates will have experience teaching middle school-aged students in a standards-based learning environment (SBL) and hold a master's degree in world language education or a related field.
As an independent school, we value community involvement and expect that the selected candidate will serve as an advisor, coach, and/or engage in student-centered extracurricular programming beyond the classroom.
