Palm Beach Day Academy seeks a Middle School History teacher to begin teaching in the 2023-24 academic year. Qualified candidates will have experience teaching the writing process, which includes an extensive focus on critical writing, grammar, usage, and mechanics. Candidates will teach a speech component, as well as discuss and analyze literature. In addition to teaching American history courses, candidates will also lead an education-based speech & debate class. Flexibility, creativity, a sense of humor, strong work ethic, and a commitment to being a collaborative team member are all critically important. Additional duties typically include advising, sponsoring a club or activity, and participating in faculty meetings and professional development.
All applicants should have a Bachelor’s degree and a concentration in History or English. A Masters Degree and minimum of five years of teaching experience at the middle or secondary level are preferred, along with excellent written and verbal communication skills, comfort with integrating technology into the curriculum, and a passion for working with children.
