The Raleigh School seeks an articulate, personable and efficient professional to provide administrative support in the Preschool and Admissions Offices. Strong interpersonal and time-management skills are a must, as this individual will serve as the point-of-contact for many constituencies (visitors, parents, teachers, helping parents, prospective parents, college students, etc.). This person will report to the Director of the Preschool and the Director of Admissions and Marketing.
Duties and Responsibilities:
We seek a relationship builder who can warmly welcome, come to know and support the adult members (and prospective members) of the preschool division of our community. Responsibilities include supporting the preschool division of the school in its daily operations and supporting the preschool admissions process from initial inquiry by a prospective parent to ultimate enrollment. Duties include but are not limited to: email correspondence, answering the phone, greeting and directing visitors, establishing and maintaining records, engaging with prospective families, performing light manual labor, helping with special events, processing supply orders and assisting with school-wide tasks as needed. Some work may occur virtually or remotely.
Qualified candidates should have knowledge of Microsoft Office, Google Applications, social media and some experience with data management (Blackbaud preferred). Previous school/early childhood experience is a plus, as is a comfort interacting with young children and their parents. Candidates must have excellent writing and communication skills, a gracious phone manner, be highly organized and be graceful under pressure. A high degree of discretion in dealing with confidential information is required.
This is a non-exempt, twelve-month position, Monday through Friday, eligible for benefits, with 35 hours per week in August-May and 20 hours per week in June and July.
