The Alfred and Adele Davis Academy seeks a long-term substitute teacher with at least 3 years of experience in teaching in elementary school. In the Fall, this position would be in the library full-time through November serving students in grades Kindergarten-5th. Candidates must have a Bachelor’s degree or certification in Education, graduate degree preferred. This is a temporary position beginning immediately.

Plans daily instructional activities for all students

Collaborates with team to plan instruction and assessments

Uses multiple tools to assess student learning on an ongoing basis, and alters instruction to meet group and individual needs

Maintains order within the classroom and school with proactive classroom management and a well-organized learning environment

Maintains records of student performance and attendance, and communicates this effectively with students and their parents

Selects and uses a variety of instructional materials to stimulate learning and meet the needs of all students

Stays abreast of current educational trends and best practices as these relate to classroom instruction and effective schools

Maintains professional manner when interacting with students, parents, patrons, community agencies and colleagues

Incorporates and models appropriate use of technology to support instruction and student learning

Performs other duties as assigned
The Davis Academy is Atlanta’s Reform Jewish Day School, located in Sandy Springs serving approximately 500 students in grades Kindergarten Prep – Eighth. We offer an outstanding teaching and professional environment and excellent school community.
