Girls’ Physical Education Teacher (Full-Time)
Grade level: PK – 8 Department: Early Childhood, Lower School, Middle School
Location: Haygood Activity Center and athletic fields
Immediate supervisor: Middle School and Lower/Early Childhood Division Heads
Job Summary: Specialized instruction in Physical Education

Job Responsibilities:

• Specialization in physical education teaching

• Ability to coach sports at a competitive middle school level

• Participation on school committees

• Attendance at divisional meetings

• Dismissal duties and Lunchroom duties

• Adhering to Faculty Guidelines

• Staying up to date with teaching strategies, techniques, etc.

• Keeping current with basic technology  

• Regular and clear parent and student communication

• Participating in professional development

• Supervision of students during class and other school activities

• Recording and documenting students’ grades and conduct

• Being a member of the Specialists’ Teachers Team

Knowledge/Experience/Physical Requirements:

• Teaching experience (minimum of three years preferred)

• Bachelor’s Degree, preferably in field

• Master’s Degree preferred but not required

• Teacher’s Certificate preferred but not required

• Proficient in Advanced technology skills

• Ability to regularly sit, turn, bend, reach, walk, talk, hear, and visually identify visitors and regularly lift up to 25 pounds

• A Team Player with the ability to work well with others
