Athens Academy Afterschool Programs Coordinator
The School:
Athens Academy is a co-educational, non-sectarian, independent college preparatory day school of approximately 910 students in grades K3-12 that offers a traditional liberal arts curriculum and innovative approaches to teaching and learning. The Position:
Athens Academy is seeking an Afterschool Programs Coordinator to oversee student programming beyond the traditional school day. While the Afterschool Programs Coordinator will work closely with the Preschool, Lower School, and Middle School Division Directors, they will have day-to-day oversight for all of programming for extended day, afterschool enrichment, and faculty development days.
● Design, market, and manage innovative programs and activities outside of normal school hours. Programming should support the school’s mission, enhance its brand and provide new, enriching and educationally sound experiences for students ages four to fourteen years old.
● Supervise program faculty and staff, and provide on-site leadership during program hours.
● Communicate with families throughout the year about upcoming programs, and respond to parent needs and concerns.
● Partner with Faculty, Staff, and the broader community to fully utilize internal resources at Athens Academy, including talented personnel and a 152 acre campus, while broadening partnerships with local mission-aligned programs.
● Maintain and manage a database of auxiliary program enrollment for registration, payment, and records purposes.
● Collaborate with the Business office to procure documentation and fiscal information for afterschool services and ensure auxiliary supply purchases remain within budget.
Qualifications:
· Relevant experience working with children in a school or after-school setting, including experience in an
supervisory capacity with demonstrated decision-making ability
· Exceptional organizational, group management, problem-solving and conflict resolution skills
· Demonstrated collaborative skills, working across constituencies and building relationships
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills appropriate for interacting with both children and adults
· 4-year college degree, additional relevant degrees, or certifications preferred
