An HDS Educational Technology Support Specialist who supports the school’s initiatives by partnering with teachers and administrators to provide relevant, successful instructional and assessment practices. This faculty member will support the management of the school’s web page and social media. As an effective member of the HDS faculty, the individual is flexible and can work independently and collaboratively with colleagues. The successful faculty member is a lifelong learner who welcomes opportunities for professional development and collegial conversation, leading to the development of effective, differentiated, and developmentally appropriate education for students in grades PreK - 8. |
Qualifications & Skills: |
● A Bachelor’s Degree in a related subject area or Education; Master’s Degree preferred |
● Relevant teaching experience as an Educational Technology Specialist or classroom teacher with an aptitude for using educational technology |
● Expertise in Google, Mac iOS, and Windows ● Patience, creativity, optimism, and adaptability ● Knowledge of twenty-first-century learning principles and techniques ● Strong interpersonal and organizational skills ● A solution-oriented and growth mindset ● Ability and interest in working with students in grades PK - 8.
Essential Functions:
● Collaborate with school administration to assess, create, and implement technology based on school plans. ● With support from the administration, facilitate the selection, installation, and start-up of all educational technology systems and equipment. ● Introduce and train new students, teachers, and parents to the school’s educational technology. ● Conduct workshops and training sessions with school staff to increase knowledge of technology and to develop an understanding of best practices to uphold a professional and appropriate online presence. ● Collaborate with the administration to update and monitor the school’s guidelines and policies regarding the safe, legal, and ethical uses of technology and digital information. ● Offer technical support to staff and students to troubleshoot computer problems. ● Work with classroom teachers to support students in using educational technology as needed. ● Update and monitor the effectiveness of the school’s website. ● Manage and monitor the school’s social media accounts. ● Provide an After School Club offering Robotics and/or Coding. ● Follow procedures related to high-risk situations ● Adhere to other duties assigned by the Head of School.
