Lower School Teacher K-3

Crosland is currently seeking a Teacher with content knowledge in lower school (Kindergarten through 3rd Grade). Our ideal candidate will possess a knowledge base and passion for teaching students with learning differences and be able to organize and implement an instructional program that will capitalize on student strengths and be in accordance with our mission. 

Responsibilities: 

• Teach K-3 Grade classes to students with learning differences

• Plan and implement curriculum

• Integrate technology into the curriculum

• Maintain Google Classroom content

• Regularly update and post to the online grade book

• Use behavior management systems that are effective with students with learning differences

• Provide a positive environment that encourages students to actively participate in their own learning

• Communicate on a regular basis with division director to discuss student progress (parent communications/maintaining positive relationships with families)

• Model professional and ethical standards when interacting with students, parents, peers and the community

• Additional duties as assigned

There will be physical demands for the desired vacancy- Physical demands refer to the level and duration of physical exertion generally required to perform critical tasks in support of critical job functions, for example - sitting, standing, walking, lifting up to 20lbs, and carrying may be involved with the job description.

Qualifications: 

• Bachelor’s degree in Special Education, Education or related field; Master’s Degree preferred

• Embraces the science of reading and is willing to be certified in O-G principles. 

• Teaching credential preferred

• Strong desire to teach students with learning differences

• Knowledge of multi-sensory teaching methodologies

• Experience with technology

• Excellent communication, interpersonal, and presentation skills

• Strong organization and time-management skills

• Desire to continue to develop professionally by learning new programs and methodologies and curriculum
