Job Description

Reports to: Executive Vice President

Status: Part-time/Non-exempt

Hours per week: 15 (will vary per month)

Schedule: Flexible with majority of work hours taking place between 9am-6pm Eastern time

Location: Work from home somewhere in/near metro Atlanta


Primary Responsibilities:


  • Accounts payable duties include processing invoices, expense coding, QuickBooks download using, and file maintenance.
  • Accounts receivable duties include submitting invoices to vendors and schools, making online bank deposits, and managing accounts receivable.
  • Provide monthly financial statements including:
  • Variances to prior year explanation
  • Variance to budget explanation
  • Year-end forecasting
  • Cash management (investment and operating accounts)
  • Graphs and other visual reports
  • PD event net profit analysis
  • Prepare monthly bank reconciliations and monitor weekly cash account balances between investment account and operating funds.
  • Prepare annual budget.
  • Prepare financial reports for board.
  • Assemble information and prepare work papers for annual audit.
  • Submit financial information to CPA firm to complete annual corporate tax returns and pension plan returns.
  • AAAIS payroll, financial statements, and annual invoicing.


Human Resources

  • Prepare semi-monthly payroll including retirement plan and health savings account contributions.
  • Manage employee benefits including PTO, medical renewal, new employee paperwork, etc.
  • Submit information for annual workers compensation renewal and audit.



  • Insurance renewals - D&O, property, cyber, event (liability & cancellation), fiduciary
  • Renew annual Secretary of State filing
  • Check mailbox once per week (Norcross)
  • Assist executive vice president and president as needed.
  • Handle inquiries in a timely manner.
  • Establish/maintain documents and records to ensure appropriate organization of materials.


Key Attributes

  • Bachelor’s degree in accounting
  • Ability to work from home
  • Experience in independent school or non-profit organization
  • Comfortable with technology and proficient with learning new software.
  • Experience with QuickBooks online, Microsoft Word & Excel required.
  • Experience with and online credit card processing systems helpful.
  • Exceptional discretion and ability to maintain confidential information
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills
