Job Description

There is a January 2023 opening for a full time Lower School Spanish Teacher at Fayetteville Academy.

Position Expectations
The position’s primary responsibility will be responsible for instructing students in elementary Spanish for grades Pre-Kindergarten through Grade 5. The teacher will create interactive lessons that teach students the Spanish language and culture, and provide an immersive experience in the target language through multi-modal, differentiated, and responsive instruction. The candidate will maintain assignments, grades and lesson plans weekly. In addition, the position requires collaborative planning with colleagues for thematic units and cross-curricular projects. Problem-solving skills, critical thinking skills, sense of humor, enthusiasm and collaboration are also important for this position. Effective communication with students, parents, colleagues, and a general love for working with children are necessary.


Educational Requirements
The successful candidate will have at least a bachelor’s degree in Spanish education (with a master’s degree preferred) and at least three-five years experience. Independent school experience is preferable.
