The Children’s School seeks an experienced full-time 4th Grade Lead Teacher to start immediately.

The Lower School Lead Teacher at The Children’s School (TCS) is responsible for student learning, classroom instruction and management, and curriculum creation/implementation and for promoting a classroom culture committed to student engagement and student learning, in accordance with the mission and philosophy of the School. 

Day to day, a Lower School Lead Teacher will:

  • Motivate, nurture, and challenge students,

  • Play a meaningful role in each student’s daily school life,

  • Establish and maintain a creative, self-directed and collaborative learning environment,

  • Communicate, collaborate, and work effectively in teaching partnerships.

Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree

  • Applicable experience working with children

  • Understands early childhood development and early learners

  • Skilled at establishing meaningful relationships with students as a critical foundation for student engagement and academic achievement

  • Possess the following characteristics:

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master’s degree

  • Three (3) years of experience teaching children in a classroom setting, preferably in elementary grades

  • Experience with student mentoring, leadership, or advisory programs

  • Passion for and experience in the work of diversity, equity, and inclusion
