Mountain Sun Community School serves children age three through middle school in a carefully prepared environment with specially trained teachers using Montessori principles along with other complementary educational practices. Mountain Sun is Brevard’s only independent school and was formed as a non-profit parent-driven effort to create a caring holistic community school that cultivates each child’s passion and unique abilities.
Our goal is to preserve each child’s natural curiosity and love of learning at the same time fostering respect and responsibility for themselves, their community, and the natural world. Lots of time spent outdoors, small multi-age classrooms and exceptional educators create a nurturing environment where each child is challenged and inspired to be their best: academically, socially, emotionally, and physically.
